Please state your full name and your position here at Marlborough College Malaysia.

Miss Cordelia King, Prep School Teacher and Resident House Tutor in Honan House.

How long have you been at MCM?

Started in August 2026.

Could you share a little about your background, family, hobbies, and anything else that’s important to you?

I grew up in the Peak District before moving to Sheffield to study Chemistry. I then moved to Manchester for my PGCE before returning to Sheffield. Prior to joining MCM, I was teaching in Hainan, China. I enjoy playing sports, such as netball and hockey. During my spare time, I will usually be doing something outdoors. In April 2023, I spent 15 days climbing up Annapurna in Nepal.

Why Marlborough College Malaysia and why Malaysia?

I am particularly excited about Barton Farm and the Lake. I was drawn to the strong pastoral focus of the school and the opportunities it provides for all pupils. The multi-cultural nature of Malaysia offers the chance to learn another language and experience new cuisines.

Can you describe your experiences and achievements in your current/previous role?

Previously I was a Class Teacher and the Head of Pre-Prep Science (Year 2 – 6). I was responsible for bringing in the CREST SuperStar Awards.

Do you have any new or exciting initiatives or events that you’re looking forward to this academic year?

I’m looking forward to Nations Day, our theme days in Year 3 and the Beagle Hash.

Is there a message you’d like to leave for the pupils, staff, or parents?

I am incredibly excited to be here at Marlborough College Malaysia and can’t wait for all the adventures to come.
