A Special Visitor at the Prep Pitches

Our campus is home to some wonderful wildlife, and one of our parents recently enjoyed a magical, up-close encounter during after-school football training:

“I saw an Olive-backed Sunbird near the Prep School. I took a break from watching my son’s football training to watch this busy little bird. I was so excited when the sunbird actually perched right on my mobile phone while I was trying to take a photograph!”

The Olive-backed Sunbird is one of Malaysia’s most beautiful native birds. Often mistaken for a hummingbird because of its tiny size, it is famously bold and curious. The males are easy to spot thanks to their brilliant, shiny blue throats and bright yellow bellies.

While they love darting around the Prep School gardens, landing directly on someone’s phone is a very rare and special treat!

Thank you to our parent community for sharing this lovely moment.
